| Description: |
Performs all scheduled and unscheduled electrical and mechanical work required by company including but not limited to preventative maintenance, service, and repair. Successful candidate should be proficient with Air Compressors, Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, Pneumatics, Pumps, Temperature Controllers, and Valves. Grade IV HVAC technicians receive their assignments with a minimum of accompanying instructions concerning the work methods or the materials to be used. They may work directly with Engineering or other departments while planning and modifying a system to meet specific conditions. During the course of the project or assigned work they are expected to do repair or modification to meet conditions which are required by technical personnel. Grade IV HVAC technicians may direct junior graded mechanics or outside contractors in the performance of the work. The supervisor is available for advice or assistance but grade IV mechanics are expected to complete their work without undue interruption to the project. They consult with their supervisor on problems which are unique, or on administrative problems such as the need for additional equipment. Expert electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are required.

Must be able to visually inspect, detect, and correct any problems within your area.
Ability to climb ladders.

Ability to use power tools.
Able to communicate effectively with co workers.
Must maintain and update all applicable records.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must posses a universal HVAC Technician certificate and be able to obtain a Maintenance Craftsman certificate.
Meet company standards and testing for this position.
Meet company attendance requirement for any pertinent training classes or on the job training.
Meet or exceed physical demand and requirements for the position.
Physical Demand Requirements
Able to reach, pull, and lift repeatedly up to 35 Lb. as demanded by the position.
General, must be able to understand and perform quickly any instruction given by the supervisor related to the jobs performance. Individual must also be able to give instructions clearly and effectively.
Must have vision of at least 50/200 in both eyes and distinguish basic colors.
Must have adequate hearing.
Must have no musculosketal conditions that impede rotation, flexion, or extension of neck, back, and extremities.
Must not be on any narcotic drugs of any sort.
Must not be on anti-anxiety drugs or anti-depressant drugs without a note from a medical provider attesting that the medication will not interfere with the performance of the job.
Must be able to stand, sit and walk continuously for 8 hours.
Must have no medical impediment to perform light to heavy duty work.
