Description:
IT Services Department is seeking a PC/Field Service Technician to assist company employees with technical hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and fixing reported problems and answering Help Desk phone calls. This position will also work with the IT Services staff to maintain and upgrade the Scott-McRae network infrastructure, including configuring and installing desktops/laptops/printers for network and remote use, maintaining peripheral devices, troubleshooting network issues, working with software and hardware vendors and upgrading systems.
Skills Required:
• A+ certification (or comparable experience)
• Basic knowledge of networking for PCs, printers, switching and routing
• Customer Support experience, with Technical Help Desk experience a plus
• Knowledge of Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and basic understanding of antivirus software
• General knowledge of Symantec Ghost Imaging software and Windows 7 a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving expertise
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Self-starter with ability to learn new skills/technology with minimal guidance
• Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends on an on-call rotation
• Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while continuing to be a team player
• Position requires frequent lifting/moving of up to 25 pounds (and occasionally 50-100 pounds)
