Position summary: Provide administrative support to military personnel.
Tasks:
•Prepare and process Navy Enlisted Classification Code (NEC) Request Forms.
•Schedule and administer special tests in accordance with NAVPERS 18068 series (Navy Occupational Standards).
•Requisition classified and unclassified Navy Correspondence Courses and answer keys listed in NAVPERS 12061 (Catalog of Courses). As required, confirm service member eligibility, coordinate delivery of course material to service member, grade completed correspondence course, and process appropriate records.
•Coordinate and administer Navy Occupational Surveys in accordance with Government sponsored letters and memoranda requesting survey information.
•Interview and perform Service Record review of service members reporting for duty to CO, Naval Station Mayport or Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Advise service member of Educational Services Office (ESO) options and opportunities. Update and maintain local ESO electronic data base listing service member rate and education data.
•Acknowledge each service member's transfer from CO, Naval Station Mayport or Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and remove service member data from ESO electronic data base.
•Process and administer a monthly service member E-l through E-3 Advancement Eligibility List (received from PSD), and resulting Special Request Chits
•Evaluate, process and administer special request chits for accelerated advancement in accordance with MILPERSMAN.
•Evaluate, process and administer Rate Change Authorizations in accordance with MILPERSMAN.
•Review Service Records to determine eligibility for E-8 or E-9 Advancement Exams. Communicate and coordinate eligibility information with CO, Naval Station Mayport, Naval Air Station Jacksonville and local PSD.
•Prepare and process letters and service record (page 13) entries for authorized
•Coordinate and administer local PSD requests for Examining Board Members.
•Coordinate and administer local PSD requests for Advancement Exam Proctors.
•Process, coordinate, and administer local PSD requests for verification of advancement eligibility of E-4 through E-7 service members.
•Review, process, and administer Advancement-Exam-No-Show reports, from local PSD, in accordance with BUPERSINST 1430.16 (series
•Review, process, and administer advancement exam results per Examination Status Verification Report (ESVR) and Profile Sheets received from local PSD. Perform tasks in accordance with local government direction and MILPERSMAN.
•Coordinate, schedule, and administer Petty Officer and Chief Petty Officer Indoctrination classes and requirements in accordance with BUPERSINST 1430.16 (series).
Travel: This may require occasional local travel. Must have valid Drivers License.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Security Clearance: Must be U.S. citizen. Must be eligible to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance through a DoD NACLC background investigation. Employee must maintain eligibility throughout employment.
